The Engineering Principle :
The Drag Chain Conveyor operates on the "en-masse" principle. A high-tensile steel chain equipped with specialized flights (paddles) moves through a stationary trough. As the chain moves, it "drags" the material along the bottom of the casing. Because the internal friction of the material is greater than the friction against the trough walls, the material moves in a solid, continuous stream, allowing for high volumetric efficiency in a compact cross-section.
